15/08: the waiting room
This video was filmed at the same time as "acubmas" with some of the same footage being used. jamie drouin was the cameraman, I edited, and he and I supplied the soundtrack.I like the idea of recycling and reusing materials constantly.
The place
where people waited,
arrived, departed,
the interface between different realities,
different levels of waiting.
where alcohol interfaces with lips,
glasses with alcohol,
dreams with reality,
ketchup with chips,
keno with poverty,
alcoholism with sobriety,
circular conversations with each other,
heaven with hell,
death with life,
and a multiplex of parallel universes
with no connection other than waiting.
The place where everything waits.

acubmas: the video(click to view video)
In 1998 I borrowed a camera and made my first video.
Jamie Drouin was the cameraman, I edited
and Roy Green and I played characters.
It has never been shown because I used
audio works by Captain Beefheart
and Maria Callas, (two of my heroes)
to make the soundtrack.
I did not want to piss them,
or their agents, off.
